Week 5 Advanced Exercise Strategies
Exercise timing: Most people think that as long as they are getting some exercise in each day then they are succeeding in their overall lifestyle goals. Unfortunately current research does not support that. In fact, when you do the exercise matters as much if not more than how much you exercise. You could be sabotaging everything that you are working so hard at just because you exercised at the wrong time of day. In this advanced concept class we will review when to time your exercise to get the most out of your commitment.
Food timing: Along with proper timing of exercise there is proper timing of food as well. We in America eat because we are told to or are expected to. If you are trying to optimize health and nutrition though, you may be struggling with energy ups and downs or not losing as much weight as you would have hoped. We will focus our attentions this class on timing of food intake to time of day as well as exercise to maximize our potential.
Strategies for travelers: At this point in the year, we are going to start encountering more travel for the holidays. Keeping to your schedule and goals becomes harder when you are away from home. We will discuss and share tips and tools to keep focused on our lifestyle goals through crazy holiday travel schedules.
Psychosocial aspects of coworker sabotage: Everyone encounters obstacles in their journey to get healthier not the least of which is well-meaning coworkers. This portion of the class will be spent on identifying these before they completely derail your efforts.
Meal and menu planning: We will end each class with a recipe to keep you motivated in your journey to a new healthier you!
